Yes. Normally the cost of the driver's license, $32.25 AND $6.00 service fee at certain field offices.
What documents are needed to obtain the Temporary Instruction Permit (“TIP Card”)
Minor students (14 yrs-17 yrs old):
- Original or state certified birth certificate (no photo copies)
- Social security card
- School enrollment form (students must at least be in the 8th grade)
- Original or court certified custody (if applicable)
- Legal custodial domiciliary parent/guardian with their driver‘s license or state ID card
Adult Students (18 yrs & older)
- *Original or state certified birth certificate (no photo copies)
- Social security card
- Proof of residency
*Note: If an adult has a valid Louisiana state ID already issued and their social security number is in the DMV’s system, then only ID & proof of residency is needed.
